Hotel Review: Four Seasons Resort Los Cabos at Costa Palmas

When my husband and I planned a five-day escape to the East Cape of Los Cabos last October, we wanted a trip that truly felt like a getaway from the already-chilly weather at home in Chicago. Our stay at the Four Seasons Resort Los Cabos at Costa Palmas was just what the doctor ordered.

From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt calm and refined. The property sits directly on the Sea of Cortez along the East Cape, far from the crowds you’ll find closer to Cabo San Lucas. The setting alone makes it feel special, but it’s the service that truly sets this resort apart.

Service that sets the Standard

Luxury hotels often promise exceptional service, but this resort genuinely delivers.

Every interaction felt thoughtful and natural. Staff members seemed to anticipate what guests might need before being asked, down to remembering our coffee orders with breakfast. The level of hospitality created an atmosphere where we could completely relax and feel taken care of from start to finish.

When not at the beach, we spent most of our time at the East Cape Pool, which is reserved for adults only. The cabanas and chairs are plentiful, and staff were very attentive with water, towels, food and other beverages.

A Swimmable Beach in Cabo

One of the most memorable parts of staying at the resort was the beach.

Unlike many areas of Los Cabos where strong currents make swimming unsafe, the coastline along the East Cape faces the calmer waters of the Sea of Cortez. That means guests can actually enjoy the ocean. Morning walks along the shore quickly became one of our favorite rituals during the trip.

Four Seasons Costa Palmas’ beachfront is very long, and they do a great job spreading out areas for seating, lounging, or enjoying the water. It never felt crowded or difficult to find a spot with privacy. The staff were great about getting food and beverages from any restaurant on the property for you to enjoy on the sand.

Dining at Costa Palmas

Dining was another highlight of our stay. Every meal we had at the resort was excellent, with fresh ingredients and unique menus. The breakfast options were plentiful and rotated daily. The pineapple was particularly sweet when we stayed in the fall.

Tucked away within a citrus grove on the property, LIMÓN was our favorite place for dinner. We loved it so much that we went two nights in a row. The restaurant brands itself as Mexican/Italian fusion with a menu that focuses on fresh, seasonal ingredients. Everything we had was delicious, but the real standout for me was a house-made tamarind limoncello that I can’t stop thinking about. It’s rare for a resort restaurant to feel special enough to revisit during a short trip, but LIMÓN absolutely delivered.

Best Room at Four Seasons Costa Palmas

Traveling as a couple, we booked a guest room with plunge pool and it was perfect. The room had plenty of space - indoor and outdoor - for us to recharge. The private plunge pool was great for a quick cool down after dinner.

Had we been traveling with kids or additional adults, a larger suite or villa would have been more ideal.

Booking with a Four Seasons Preferred Partner, like O’Reilly Global Travel, gave us extra benefits that made the trip all the more special. Benefits included a complimentary room upgrade, daily breakfast for two and a private round-trip airport transfer in one of the resort’s luxury SUVs.
